AHHH LIFE!

I’m terribly sorry I haven’t posted any articles recently.  My kid likes to keep me up all night and my job likes to keep me busy… What’s their problem??!!

Any who I’m planning on making it up to you with a fresh dose of perspective.  All I need is a good night’s sleep and this steaming pile of stress cleaned up.

You can still follow me on Twitter: @robot_sonic

Facebook & Twitter: Corporate Customer Service Department

image

I’m sure you’ve noticed the evolution of how companies are practically forced to use Facebook & Twitter as Customer Service.  Referencing the picture dialogue above (it didn’t take me very long to find that), what used to happen was people would say all this negative stuff and businesses for the most part wouldn’t care… they just wanted you as a number (old Myspace times).  If it ever got bad they would block you.  Now companies are taking a pro-active approach solving the customer problem that wasn’t resolved at the time of transaction or whenever.  The first comment in the picture, the guy’s his name is Marc and he is just complaining about the overall problem Sears is faced with.  Really neither Marc or Sears can do anything about that.  Sears itself didn’t reply to his negative comment… it was Sears Cares that did.  Personally that’s kind of a dumb move but whatever.  I guess that’s their Facebook clean up department.  Sears Cares responded like any other corporation would, politely and made it seem like his remarks were important to Sears.  Then along comes a loser who’s been shopping for 30+ years at Sears, and starts defending the corporation.  Now this is exactly what Sears wants… real interactive customers and loyal fans talking about Sears.  Sears knows that on facebook and twitter customer’s good or bad impressions can spread through out the social networks, giving basically FREE marketing to Sears.

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs has worked incredibly hard in his life to achieve his goals and succeed in his career.  It’ll be sad to see his vision for the company he started, begin to fade over the next few years.  Jobs really innovated with the macintosh, iMac, iPod, iPhone & iPad. It seemed it was always about simplicity and modern design when using an Apple product.  I have always bashed Apple products because of certain frustrations I had with them, but I can certainly say they were the first of their kind.  Other developers and manufacturers learned how to make better products through competition with Apple.  So I’m happy to see Apple as the top tech developer and I hope they continue to strive and innovate post Steve Jobs.

@sparker Former Facebook CEO

“Sorry Zuck, I had to do it eventually. (Actually@scooterbraun made me do it.)”

Sean Parker had a guest appearance last night on Jimmy Fallon.  He was there to promote Spotify.  For a minute I was like Sean Parker?  He represents Spotify?  When did all this happen?  Why was he MIA for so long?  No matter the reason, he is now publicly on twitter… he didn’t have to, he could’ve made an anonymous account just explore the ins and outs of the micro-blog site.   I guess when you have assets worth over 2 BILLION dollars… it doesn’t really matter what service you use.  Does a person with that much wealth possess a gold finger with everything he touches.. or even better example the Oprah Effect?  I don’t think so, Parker didn’t manage to bring an on slot of new Twits as much as Oprah, Obama or Ashton Kutcher have.

The Starbucks Jerk

This one is totally unrelated to my usual technology articles… but had to write this… You know the story… you’re standing in line waiting to give your Starbucks order and the guy in front of you says his order (almost mumbles) and when the cashier repeats and order and its slightly wrong, the customer in line just BLOWS UP!
