Google+ Train
Facebook this and facebook that… there’s a new sheriff in town and he’s lookin’ to clean up this mess we’ve gotten ourselves into. People have long suspected facebook to have a nasty side, when dealing with privacy. And maybe it was true a while ago, but it finally seems we have a enough privacy tools to protect our online identity. Google+ on the other hand, had privacy in mind from the get go. Google+ forces you to index your contacts by circles… you have to decide are they friend or foe. Don’t quote me on this but technically you can create a circle called “just for me” and just send posts to that circle and no one will be able to read them except you. Running in that manner creates your own personal blog or diary. Maybe create another circle with your just your wife or girlfriend and write sweet nothings to her… Damn I’m smart!
This is kinda possible on facebook too… but it involves more setting up and stuff and PhD is economics to really master. It’s just too much work… Google+ just makes it easy. And because its so easy, I have to question… what’s Google’s master plan??? Where are they headed with this plus, is it to keep google a strong force for ads and searches, are they hiding behind a government cover up, or 10 years down the road could there be a SURPISE we’re charging you for our service!! That would be stupid! Anyway maybe its better to worry about that later.
While I have yet to use this feature… Huddles with a webcam or your smartphone front facing camera or just your voice you can have the greatest chat ever. Say everyone had video chat working, every time a person talks all screens show the person talking. You’ve just gotta try it.
Oh and a nice “plus” is photos and videos are instantly uploaded to a private folder when you run the android or iphone google+ app, no more cable sync. Its just there and ready to use. Media from your digital camera or video recorder will still have to be uploaded the old fashion way…
And now I hear games is on Google+ and you won’t be annoyed with them anymore, they will have their own category so it won’t end up on your stream anymore. Thank You G!
I’m really excited to see what else will be added on the Google+ train! Damn now I got the Quad City Dj’s “Come on ride the train” song in my head… Woo Woo.. Come on its the Choo Choo train…!
